Train of Terror by Hideshi Hino

So this a comic I just read recently.
Well, uh... I'm not sure what to say, man.
Let's just get this terror train a-rolling!
CHOO CHOOO!
So the story starts out with a bunch of kids riding a train through the countryside without adult supervision.

We have the main character, Shuichi, the chick, Yuki, the funny fat kid, Boo-chan, and some weirdo in a trench coat. Just, uh... Sitting next to a bunch of children. Unattended, naive children.

Then the train enters a tunnel, and Shuichi flips. Watch out kid. You're in a Hideshi Hino story! Once you say something dumb like that, it's GUARANTEED to happen!
So there is a lot of commotion when the train goes into the tunnel. The lights go off, and when they come back on, the mysterious creeper is gone! Only a black feather remains...
Otherwise, everyone is fine. Everyone has creepy ass faces all of a sudden, though.
Oh my god, Boo-chan! That is SO RUDE! You don't just shout "AH, YOUR FACE!" at people! How would you feel if someone said that to you? Huh, Boo-chan?
God, Shuichi, DON'T SAY THINGS LIKE THAT!
So the kids all go home. Shuichi sees the trenchcoat weirdo again and totally flips a tit over it.
During dinner, he notices that his mom has a mole on her neck and his dad has a scar on his neck. Apparently they never were there before and he wigs out.
He goes to bed, still freaking out, when he suddenly hears a sound.
And his parents are burning a dead body! Oh dear!
He runs away and breaks a vase like a clumsy ass.
OH GROSS DUDE HE'S DROOLING!
Are you sure you won't tell anyone, Shuichi? Are you sure?
For the third time we are shown this image. JEEZ, man! CALM DOWN!
So next we see our trio at school. Apparently Boo-chan and Yuki have had similar experiences during the night, and are all understandably distraught.
I also want to point out how GREAT the faces of all the other kids are. There isn't a bad one in the bunch. Hilarity all around.
So because they all had the same experiences, they decide to go to the teacher help.
And all the other kids get creepy on them.
Turns out the mysterious stranger had appeared on the playground, which caused all the kids to act strangely. As soon as he disappeared, they all returned to normal and had no idea what they were doing all crowded like that.
After school they all go to tell their teacher about the whole "our parents are murderers and want to kill us" thing. Hey, remember that promise they made about not talking about that? Hahahahaha.
The teacher leaves the kids in the class room to talk to his detective brother, who can help them out.
He leaves them there in the class room for hours.
And Boo-chan has to take a dump.
... And he comes back with a knife in the back. You broke one of the golden rule of surviving a horror story, Boo-chan! NO POOPING!
Well, they're boned.
So they run and run and run. Like, they get chased all over. I am not going to go over all the places they go. It doesn't really matter.
They try to dross between two buildings by walking on a board. It breaks, and Yuki falls to her death.
Terrified, Shuichi runs to a car for a ride away from these crazy people.
BUT THE CREEPER IS DRIVING THE CAR!
And the scary choo-choo reappears.
So he jumps out of the car and jumps what seems to be 30 FEET AWAY and off a clip. Damn, kid!
He lands right in front of an amusement park, and his pursuers have already caught up with him.
Oh yeah, sure, kid.
SHUICHI YOU ARE DUMB
THAT WAS A DUMB PLAN
So he goes into the sewer, which somehow leads to a cage full of anacondas.
They catch up to him, but an anaconda wraps itself around them for some reason.
Shuichi is then able to run away again, and finds the police.
AND EVERYTHING WORKS OUT JUST FINE!
So his parents kill the police officer, and Shuichi is bound and taken into the Mysterious Stranger's car.
Boy, I sure hope there is an explanation for this man's involvement!
And they put him on the train tracks.
And a train is approaching!
A TRAIN!
OF TERROR!
So it turns out it was all just a dream and Shuichi was in a coma!
It turns out there really was a horrible accident when the train entered that tunnel!
And Yuki and Boo-chan really are dead!
But Shuichi is back home, and his parents are perfectly normal, not a mole or scar in sight!

Oh wait, no, THEY REALLY DO HAVE THE MOLE AND SCAR OH NO
I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS GOING ON ANYMORE!
CHOO CHOOO!
So, uh... That sure was... A story?
So, what did I think of this?
Well, This reminds me a lot of my "I'm being chased by people that want to kill me" dreams, and those are always scary. The basic idea here is really scary!
However, the ending was like a triple ass-pull, and I couldn't really make sense of it.
It wasn't a mind-bender as much as a "wow this is really dumb".
When you're writing horror, you REALLY don't want that effect on your audience!

I wouldn't recommend this to a friend, really.
